A Geologist since 1983, Matthew has wide experience in the field and has worked primarily as an exploration and mine geologist for gold and base metal targets in SE Asia, North America, Africa and North Queensland. He has worked with:
- Triple Plate Junction (Vietnam)
- Akara Mining (Thailand)
- Tiberon Metals
- Newmont Mining Corporation
- Ashton Exploration (Irian Jaya)
- PT Minekindo Umana Inti (Indonesia)
(... just to name a few)
Matthew played a key role in the discovery and development of
- the Batu Hijau gold-copper mine
- Mesel sediment hosted gold deposit in Indonesia
Recent exploration experience for Terra Search includes:
- Geological supervision of NuPower’s phosphate exploration program of geological mapping, geological evaluation and drill testing of Lucy Ck phosphate project, via Jervois Station, NT.
- Other phosphate work includes evaluation, helicopter supported rock chip sampling and mapping project at Plain Creek, Central Queensland (Circle Resources).
- Other major projects include involvement in major drill out of Cudeco’s copper-gold-cobalt project at Rocklands, Cloncurry district and evaluation of epithermal gold deposits of the Drummond Basin around Mt. Coolon for Drummond Gold.
Matthew is co-author of two publications
- The Discovery of the Mesel Sediment-Hosted Gold Deposit, North Sulawesi, and Indonesia
Co-author. New Generation Gold Mines 1997, Perth, Western Australia
- The Structural Controls on Mineralisation at the Nui Phao Polymetallic W-F-Au-Cu-Bi deposit, North Vietnam.
