Dashboard screen

The Dashboard is the first screen you see. It opens on For you, your unread notices, and then summarises your safety profile one tab at a time, with an Attention Required list on the left of things that need someone to look at them, and figures and charts on the right.

What's new

When you open a new release, a What's new notice covers the Dashboard: "Select a new feature below to read the write-up", then the release's features, each title a link to its help page, with one line under it and a tick box at its left. Ok closes it; Take me there closes it and opens that feature, with a short tour where there is one, a card with Next, Back and Skip (the Tab key reaches its buttons once the card has focus). Nothing behind it can be used until it is answered.

Since 1.0.0.18 the notice remembers what you want: every box is ticked to start, and Remind me next time beside Ok sets them all at once, showing a filled square when only some rows are ticked. A ticked row returns at your next start; untick a row and that feature stays off the notice; untick every row and the notice stays away until the next release has something new. The choices are kept per person on the Xplore Shield Notices Seen list, nowhere else.

Tabs

Choose a tab along the top: For you, Compliance, Registers, Hazards, Incidents, Staff or Equipment. It opens on For you.

Tab

Attention Required lists

Right-hand side

For you

Your unread notices, newest first, with three tiles counting the Critical, Action and Digest ones; a tap opens a notice, a tile opens the notifications panel. If you can switch profile, a line gives today's compliance additions and how many items need attention. See Notifications

None: the counts and charts are under the other tabs

Compliance

Staff, equipment and comms devices that are in the field and have a problem: missing forms, a low battery or a device not turned on

Assets in the field, active projects, and a chart of staff, equipment and comms in the field

Registers

Forms in the date range marked "Attention Required"

Number of forms, prestart hours, forms per day, form submissions by name

Hazards

Open hazards, newest first

Unreviewed hazards, and charts of initial and residual risk

Incidents

Open incidents

Open investigations, and a chart of incident types

Staff

People with a licence or certificate expiring soon

Number of staff, a count of field technicians and geologists, and how many hold each skill

Equipment

Equipment due or overdue for service, or with an out-of-date fire extinguisher tag

Equipment and inspection counts, equipment by type, and inspections per item

The number beside "Attention Required" is the number of rows in the list.

Open a record

Choose a row in an Attention Required list to open the record behind it: the staff, equipment or comms compliance record, the hazard or incident report, the Staff or Equipment Database record, or, on the Registers tab, the form's first attachment in a viewer (Download there saves the file to your device; hold Ctrl and turn the mouse wheel to zoom).

Change the date range

On the Registers and Equipment tabs, From and To sit in a row of their own under the figures and set the dates the forms and inspections come from. They start at the last 30 days. Choose the small cross beside a date to put it back. To cannot be earlier than From. After you change a date the forms load again, which can take a moment.

Good to know

  • The Dashboard refreshes by itself every 15 seconds, but only the tab you are on.

  • The middle of the blue bar shows Xplore Shield and, beneath it, the safety profile you are working in, on every main screen.

  • Your safety profile is picked for you, from the profile whose users include your account. If the Dashboard shows another organisation's data, or nothing, send a report.

  • The Terra Search staff listed as profile switchers on Terra Search's own safety profile in the Intranet can switch profile: a Safety profile row under Settings in the menu, on every main screen, opens a short list of profiles; choosing one moves the whole app to that profile, clears the filters and reloads the screen they are on. Nobody else sees the row.

  • On a phone the Dashboard stacks: the Attention Required list, then the figures, each with its caption, the dates on two lines, then the chart and the list beneath it; the tab row scrolls sideways. On a tablet held upright it stacks the same way, the summary list showing up to eight rows under the chart; on a tablet held sideways the chart sits above its list and the right-hand column scrolls.
